Worth the Cost

After a couple of rough days and some personal hits, what else happened?... of course... our van started having an issue. We were thinking, "Great! One more thing!" Then we were told about a local guy who does good work, so we gave him a call. He said he'd look at it, even though he was taking time off due to personal circumstances. Through this process we really hit it off with him and his wife (he works from home) and actually ended up exchanging info so we could plan to get together. His wife told me when we were leaving that they had just prayed this same morning that God would bring someone into their lives to help them connect with and that when Clint called she felt that she wasn't supposed to turn him away (as they had been doing with others who were calling). So encouraging to see how God works! So, what seemed to be "one more thing wrong" was actually used as an answer to their prayer!... and actually, an answer to ours also as we have been praying for friends too! They have 4 kids, two of which are Aaron & Ali's age! Isn't God so good?! It was so worth the cost of having the repair done!

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.

  1. Isn't that encouraging. Praising God with you. I think it's so important to step out the second you hear that whisper to, b/c you may be missing out on a wonderous opportunity. One that would allow you to bless another - one that would help God's will to come to pass in your life - one that, if ignored, may be presented to another person, instead of you.

I was given an opp. like ths last week when the Lord told me to appraoch a stranger, after small-talking, at the McDonalds play land. I was supposed to get up as she was leaving, and ask her if she needed prayer for anything. Well, i ALMOST let the moment pass, but her daughter was taking a long time to round up, so i made it over to her and said, "i know this might sound weird, but..." Well, her eyes lit up, and she said that there were many things, but mainly, for them to know how to handle their step-daughter, Ebony, age 14, who was failing in school and acting out a lot. She has just started living with them the last 6 mo.s. They also have kids who are 5 and 9 mos, and 1 in her belly.
She asked for my # and told me that they are searching for a church home & I invited her to ours. She seemed to be encouraged when she left...and I seemed to be too. Not just for the sake of reaching out, but knowing that I actually did something i was prompted by the Spirit to do. regardless of the outcome seen outwardly (she never called), the important thing is to act, and act right away. I've been tryin to remember to pray for them & Ebony this week - maybe you can too.
    thanks for sharing kim!
