Purpose ... In My Time

So this morning I had a thought. A thought about my ONE word for the year (which is "purpose"). I'm not one who is great at photography, I let my camera decide for itself if it needs to adjust; but I do know that sometimes to get a more complete picture or view an an object you must focus in. My word is a great word for the year... a great goal and a great desire... but how do I focus in on it? How do I allow it to become real rather than just an idea? The word "time" came to mind. How do I spend my time? That is the question. Because how it is spent determines how purposed I am and therefore will determine the purpose I feel in my life. Let me give an example.
When I held a specific job in the past, I knew what my purpose was within it. I knew it was right and it gave me confidence to do the job. It was more than a "job", it was my mission. I was fulfilled.
When I spend time with my family, specifically engaging with them through games, devotions, outings, etc. I realize my purpose and I am fulfilled.
When I spend time with God, specifically in His Word, He speaks to me, guides me, encourages me and reveals and reaffirms my purpose and I am fulfilled.
On the flip side, I have had times in my life when I have just let my time slide away here or there. I became lazy with it. I didn't spend time with God, I was around my family but not engaging, my house went to pot. Rather than feeling purposed, I felt lost, unfilled and purposeless.
These instances were specifically tied to how I spent my time. This is something to stay focused in on.
Thank you God for this snapshot today!
