We see Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego being taken by soldiers to be thrown into the furnace (which was 7 times hotter than usual) because they would not bow to the idol constructed by the King.
Three things stood out to me here:
1. The fire was so hot that it killed the soldiers who took S,M and A up to it. (soldiers NOT of God)
2. S,M and A although thrown INTO the fire had God with them while IN the fire and they came out with NO harm done... they didn't even smell of fire. (they were soldiers of God)
3. Verse 29 says "for no other god can save in this way." (Our Living, Creator God!)
This really spoke to me about our kids. Though they walk "into the fire" everyday (in worldy, public schools or wherever else), God is able to be WITH them IN the fire and save them from the harm of the fire... they can come out of it unharmed with His help... only the Living God can save in this way!
