Before the King

In my mind's eye, I see a throne room. I am entering in, making my way to the throne where the king sits. I am excited, yet reserved. Respectful and reverent. In awe yet a fearful. As I approach, I am quiet and I kneel. I don't say a word, I wait on Him to speak. And I listen to His words.

Shouldn't this be the same manner in which I approach the King of kings? Why do I feel it's different and that I can just rush in babbling all my desires to him?

But, I would also come in with praise and adoration and this is what the Bible tells us to do also. Come into His courts with praise!

Respect- to consider worthy of high regard
Reverent- expressing reverence, worshipful / -Reverence- honor and respect shown, profound adoring
Awe- an emotion combining dread, honor and wonder that is inspired by authority or the sacred
Fear- profound reverence and awe
Adoration- the act of adoring
Praise- to glorify

Isn't He worthy of it all? I will give Him the honor and glory that is due Him.

"But the Lord is in His holy temple, let all the earth be silent before Him." Habakkuk 2:20

Read also Psalm 89.
